For years, I’ve been chasing some of the most iconic and personally meaningful trading cards across AFL and NBA history. This feature page showcases the premium cards I’ve hunted, acquired, and graded — now locked away in the personal vault at Graded Cards Australia.

1. 2023 Select Legacy AFL Draft Pick Signature – Will Ashcroft (Gold)

Graded: SGC 10
This Gold variant of the #2 draft pick was an early grail in 2023. With limited print and rising stardom, it’s a flagship piece of the modern Collingwood collector set.

2. 2023 Regal AFL Collingwood 2010 Premiership Stars – QUAD AUTO

Graded: PSA Authenticated
A quad-signed monster featuring legends of Collingwood’s 2010 premiership team. Extremely limited and highly collectible for any Pies fan.

3. 2011 Select AFL Infinity Signature Redemption – MS2 Dane Swan

Graded: SGC 9.5
A gem from the Brownlow era. Swan’s Infinity Signature Redemption is a fan favourite, and this copy came back with a near-perfect grade.

4. 1981 Scanlens VFL – Peter Daicos #52 (Rookie Card)

Graded: CGA 5
An Australian cardboard icon. While raw copies are tough to find clean, this slabbed Daicos rookie has the heritage and history every collector dreams of.

5. 1994 Select AFL Nathan Buckley (Rookie Card)

Graded: CGA 9
A cornerstone of the Buckley collection. Securing a high-grade rookie of one of Collingwood’s greatest leaders was a top priority.

6. 1994 Select AFL Nathan Buckley Sticker (Rookie Card)

Graded: CGA 8
Tougher to source and rarer than the base rookie. This sticker card is an underrated gem for vintage AFL enthusiasts.

7. 2004 Select AFL Ovation – Dane Swan (Rookie Card)

Graded: CGA 10
A perfect 10 for the Swan rookie! Hard to find in pristine condition, this one holds a top spot in the Swan PC.

8. 2021 Select AFL Draft Pick Rookie – Nick Daicos DP4

Graded: CGA 10
The beginning of something special. Nick Daicos is rewriting records, and this rookie is his cardboard genesis — captured in flawless condition.

9. 2007 Select Supreme – Scott Pendlebury (Rookie Card)

Graded: SGC 10
Pendles is one of the modern greats, and this rookie in SGC 10 condition cements his place in the vault.

10. 2022 Select AFL Optimum Draft Pick Signature – Mac Andrew

Graded: SGC 10
This Gold Coast Suns DPS hit was one of the top pulls of the 2022 season. A sleek autograph and sharp grade sealed its spot in the PC.

11. 2024 Select NAB AFL Draft Pick – Sam Lalor

Graded: SGC 10
A promising up-and-comer, and one of the earliest slabs to hit for the 2024 draft class. Always exciting to lock in a future star early.

12. 1981-82 Topps Super Action – Larry Bird #101

Graded: SGC 8.5
A slice of NBA greatness. This Larry Bird “Super Action” card brings vintage NBA flair to an AFL-heavy collection, and bridges two passions.

🧠 Why These Cards Matter

Every collector has a different definition of a “chase” — for me, it's about meaning, legacy, and that moment of personal excitement when a card becomes more than cardboard.

This vault represents years of searching, investing, and preserving some of the most important cards to me as both a Collingwood fan and sports collector.
